Okay, I will freely admit that I enjoy celebrity gossip. Personally, for me, it makes these current celebs more human to me. It makes them touchable, so to speak. {side note: I don’t watch a lot of the current flicks out there. I enjoy the classics (I’m a huge Audrey Hepburn fan). In my opinion, I think the movies from the Hepburn-Bogie-Grant days were much better. They seemed to care more about the story telling rather then the action and sex.} Way back when, actors seemed more real. They were joining the military. They weren’t making sex tapes to be distributed around the world. That’s not to say that they weren’t getting in trouble…they just seemed to have a bit more class. I digress though, as I was saying, I enjoy reading about celebrity gossip. I’m an avid stalker of People, OK, Perez Hilton (PH) and TMZ. What drives me up the wall though is the people who make comments on these celeb gossip sites who are not only cruel to the celebs (who, as far as I know…don’t personally know these people) but cruel to those who manage the sites (like PH). Calling Angelina Jolie a homewrecker and a whore makes no sense. No one truly knows what happened so why the name calling? It’s called GOSSIP for a reason. What actually stems this post though (aside from being awoken a little too early) is PH’s site. A few months ago, he made a goal to be “shirtless by Independence Day”. An admirable goal. Being overweight isn’t healthy (and holy crap does it hurt the knees when you try to run!). So, yesterday, he took off his shirt via his site. Awesome for him. But people were not always nice. Calling him disgusting. Telling him to get away from the laptop. Etc. These people KNEW what was going to happen. Why watch the video? Was it just so they can talk shit?
So, I wonder, why do they read these sites that talk about people they don’t like? Do they really lead that boring of a life that they have to make stupid comments about everyone? If I don’t like a CELEBRITY, I don’t read about them. Or, I read about them…laugh at how stupid they are…and go on about my marry ol’ way. Have we learned NOTHING from Bambi?
“If you can’t say something nice…don’t say nothing at all.”
Until the next dew drops (but hopefully not on my bed),
M.
i think you cant stop people from talking, it is an only way one gets to hear the truth if you care.
This is true…but it’s one thing to tell someone the truth…it’s another thing to be down right mean.
